Salesforce Marketing Cloud Release Highlights April 2021
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud April release is live! In today's post, we present our highlights.

Package Manager
The most comprehensive change is certainly the introduction of the package manager. With this new tool, fully configured content, automations, journeys, and data models can be exported from one Marketing Cloud instance and imported into another instance. The Package Manager is provided free of charge to all customers. An exciting development for deploying a wide range of data and content, which we will report on in more detail in the future!
Journey Builder Wait Until API Event Activity
There is a new wait activity in Journey Builder: “Wait Until API Event.” Journey contacts remain in a waiting step until an external event occurs, such as the purchase of a product. The new Wait Activity therefore enables reactions to the contact's actions within a journey, which go beyond pure email engagement or time-definable events, and that almost in real time.
View contact history in Journey Builder Activities
In Journeys, you can now see significantly more details about the contact history in the individual activities. If you click on the contact number under a journey activity, you are now shown not only how many contacts have already gone through the activity, but also which contacts they are and how many the activity was successful or failed. This information is available in all activities except Wait Steps for the last 30 days and makes troubleshooting much easier.
More data quality scores for Einstein products
Until now, only Einstein Send Time Optimization had a Data Quality Score available, which could be used to assess the significance of the collected data. This has changed with the new release: Data Quality Scores are now also available for Einstein Engagement Frequency and Einstein Engagement Scoring. Using these new metrics, marketers can also better assess how reliable the forecasts made by Einstein are, even with these products.
In the coming weeks, we will once again present some of the new features in detail. As always, anyone who would like to find out more in advance will find further information in the documentation.
