Datorama Reports for Salesforce Marketing Cloud
The January 2021 release marks the gradual introduction of Datorama Reports for Marketing Cloud. Discover Reports will be replaced by this new tool for email and journey reporting by spring 2022. In this article, we explain why we think the Datorama Reports are one of the most exciting new features.

Datorama Reports — Features Overview
Datorama is Salesforce's marketing intelligence solution, in which marketers can centralize complex and extensive data from various sources and create AI-based marketing reports. The strengths of this tool are now also made available directly in the Marketing Cloud for email and journey reporting. The Datorama Reports are located in Analytics Builder and consist of three areas: Dashboards, Pivot Tables, and Reports.
dashboards
The new feature comes with a whole range of preconfigured dashboards that present the most important KPIs for email marketers in appealing and clear graphics. In addition to the account-wide presentation of metrics such as opens, clicks and click-to-open rate, this also includes visualization of the conversion funnel and engagement by domain or data extension. In addition to the general “Email Overview Dashboard,” there are dashboards for deliverability, engagement and performance as well as a “Journey Performance by Email Dashboard,” which shows data aggregated by journey. The data can be filtered by time period and business unit and can be compared with a comparative period.
We are particularly pleased with the dashboards, as anything comparable has not been available as standard in the Marketing Cloud so far! Until now, clear visual processing of engagement data required specially programmed solutions or complex manual post-processing of the data.
pivot tables
In addition to the ready-made dashboards, users can create tailor-made analyses in the “Pivot Tables” area. Even large amounts of data can be easily filtered, sorted and aggregated. This area is most comparable to the latest Custom Discover Reports. However, since the pivot tables are based on Datorama technology, significantly higher performance is expected here, also when it comes to analyzing large amounts of data.
Reports
In this area, reports can be shared with other people and regular mailings of analyses can be set up as Excel, csv or PDF files. As a result, the Datorama Reports provide the previously known sending functionality as usual.
Datorama Reports will be made available free of charge to all users of corporate and enterprise editions by spring 2022. In the Pro edition, they are available as an add-on.
We are really looking forward to the introduction of this new reporting tool, because with the dashboards, it not only offers a long-missed visualization of the most important KPIs, but will also give marketers a powerful opportunity to create tailor-made analyses and make data-driven decisions. In our opinion, the Datorama Reports therefore represent a significant development of reporting options in the Marketing Cloud!
